Working with Families

Being part of a family system can be challenging for everyone. Exploring how family dynamics and early roles shape your current relationships and emotional patterns can help to either be more open and honest or set more necessary boundaries. In family therapy we can address long standing patterns of behavior and communication that can be difficult to change. We can discuss how to de-escalate arguments and cope with intense emotions. Sometimes only two members of a family need help unpacking a certain issue, family therapy can be as little as two members or as many as five, it just depends on where the help is needed. The goal of family therapy is to help everyone feel heard and seen within the family dynamic. Hopefully each family member can get to a place of feeling part of a more balanced, respectful and supportive system.
